Lunch for today includes: Chicken Patty Sandwich, Nachos with Beef Filling and Salsa Dipping Cup, Tater Tots, Steamed Mixed Vegetables, Mandarin Oranges, and Milk.

Registration for the winter session of the After School Academy is now available. Students can sign-up using the QR code posted throughout the building or by completing the form located on the After School Academy page on our school website.

Decatur Nation! Are you looking for a great scholarship opportunity? If so, the Optimist Essay Contest is for you. Check the SDHS Schoology page or see any English teacher or Ms. Tindley in guidance for more information. Deadline for submission is December 21.

Everyone processes grief in different ways, and with the recent losses facing our community, Decatur’s Counseling Department has partnered with Coastal Hospice to provide a grief group in the media center. Students and staff are invited to join this Thursday, December 15th from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Shirk in the counseling office.

There will be a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting this Thursday at 7:15 am in D-151, Mr. Drahiem’s room. See Mrs. Fenzel-Mergott or Ms. Fluty if you have any questions. All are welcome!

The National English Honor Society will be selling Candy Cane Grams all this week for 2 dollars each during all lunch shifts! (Roll Candy Gram Video 1:56) Send one to your friend, your teacher, or even yourself! Don’t be a mean girl, send a candy cane, it’s so fetch!

Decatur Nation! Diakonia is in need of peanut butter and jelly to give to community members in need! Senior Kameron Harris is holding a holiday food drive to refill their pantry. Please consider donating jars of peanut butter and jelly from now until December 21st. Donations can be dropped off in Mrs Chetelat’s room.

Seniors! Time is running out to have your senior portraits taken for the 2023 Seahawk Yearbook! All yearbook photos MUST be taken through Prestige Portraits and those photos MUST be taken by February 1st. Schedule an appointment time in the Lifetouch studio in Salisbury TODAY!

For Sports:

The Varsity Girls’ Basketball Team defeated Worcester County rival Snow Hill on Friday night with a score of 63 to 40. Sophomore Sam Boger knocked down 8 three pointers leading the Decatur offense with 26 points, while senior captain Shelby Rosemond contributed 7 assists and 13 points. Way to go Seahawks!
