Today Celebrates: Roast Chestnuts Day!

Lunch for today includes: BBQ Pork Sandwich, Popcorn Chicken with Roll, Vegetarian Baked Beans, Steamed Broccoli, Diced Peaches, and Milk.

Great job to the Choir and Show Choir for their spirit filled winter concert last night! From Carol of the Bells to The Grinch, the musical groups showcased their talent during this festive time. Special shout out for their unique take on the 12 days of Christmas! If you missed it, you certainly missed out!

Decatur Nation! It’s time to vote for the best decorated door! Voting is now open and will remain open until 3:00 pm on Friday. To vote, scan the QR code by each door! The door with the highest rating will receive holiday goodies. Winner will be announced on Monday, December 19th. Great job to all those who decorated, and best of luck!

Diakonia is in need of peanut butter and jelly to give to community members in need! Senior Kameron Harris is holding a holiday food drive to refill their pantry. Please consider donating jars of peanut butter and jelly from now until December 21st. Donations can be dropped off in Mrs Chetelat’s room.

Registration for the winter session of the After School Academy is now available. Students can sign-up using the QR code posted throughout the building or by completing the form located on the After School Academy page on our school website.

The National English Honor Society is selling Candy Cane Grams all this week for 2 dollars each during all lunch shifts! Send one to your friend, your teacher, or even yourself! Don’t be a mean girl, send a candy cane, it’s so fetch!

Spinebreakers! The next agreed upon checkpoint on our journey through the book, Firekeeper’s Daughter, will stop on page 390, chapter 43 for Monday’s discussion. Also, students can vote on the next book choice NOW by seeing Mr. Thompson, Mrs. Terlizzi, or the Media Center specialists to scan the QR code to suggest a dystopian novel. Our next book will be available after the holiday break on January 2nd.

Calling all writers! The Ocean City – Berlin Optimist Club is encouraging area students to complete an essay as part of the Optimist International Essay Contest. This year’s official topic is “Who is an Everyday Hero that Brings Out the Optimism in You?” Check the SDHS Schoology page or see any English teacher or Ms. Tindley in guidance for more information. Deadline for submission is December 21.

Congratulations to the JV Girls Basketball team on their win at Washington by the score of 34 to 13!

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls’ Basketball team for their 59 to 40 win over Washington. Senior captain Mayah Garner led the Seahawk offense with 28 points. The Girls’ next game is at home against Crisfield at 6:00 Friday.
