Decatur Nation! Your LGBTQ+ fact of the week is: On December 13, 2022 The Respect for Marriage Act was signed into law. It requires the U.S. federal government and all U.S. states and territories to recognize the validity of same-sex and interracial civil marriages in the United States and protects religious liberty.

Members of Spinebreakers, if you missed the gathering yesterday but are interested in joining in on the discussion of Feed, make sure you see Mr. Thompson in-between classes or during 5th period to complete the survey and obtain a copy of the novel.

Do you love animals and want to help them? The Kids Against Animal Abuse and Testing club will be meeting after school TODAY in room D150. We will discuss our plans for the pet food drive later this spring.  Please make sure you have transportation home. New members are welcome! See Mrs. K. Patrick if you have questions.

Attention Juniors. Are you interested in helping organize Prom this year? We will be hosting our first Prom Committee meeting of the year this Wednesday at 2:50 in Ms. Gallelo’s room, C-135 to begin the planning process. If you’re interested in throwing the best Prom ever, please join us. Don’t just talk about it, join us and have a critical role in planning an event you will remember forever! The COVID-19 pandemic brought about many changes to Decatur, and while the school has returned to a sense of normalcy, some changes have become the norm. Nic Hitchens, Jack Halbig, and Chandler Smith have the story. (Roll Lockers 1:53) If you are interested in obtaining a locker, check in with the front office.

There will be a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting this Thursday, January 12th at 7:10 in Mr. Drahiem’s room, D-156. See Ms. Fluty or Mrs. Fenzel-Mergott if you have any questions. All are welcome!

Do you find yourself humming at random times? Do you belt out those melodies and harmonies in the shower! If you love singing and dancing then the SDHS choir and show choir may be the class you need! Speak to MR. Gross and your guidance counselor about including choir and/or show choir next semester and next year! No experience necessary, but fun is required!
