Senior Montrel Moore signed a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on the morning of April 25. Moore has been a member of the indoor and outdoor track teams for all four years of his high school career.

The student-athlete holds personal bests in the 55 meter, 100 meters, 200 meters, and 300 meters. Moore was also a member of the varsity football team. Even out of school Montrel goes above and beyond by volunteering at Atlantic General Hospital and Worcester County Public Schools. Track coach and teacher Jody Stigler said in his speech during Moore’s signing, “We can always count on him to set a good example for younger teammates.”

At UMES, Moore is majoring in exercise science. Starting his collegiate track career, he will be running both outdoor and indoor in the 100 meter, 200 meters, 4×1, and 4×2. As for his plans after college, Montrel says he is “hoping to be successful.”
