Today Celebrates: It’s My Party Day, National Fossil Day, and World Egg Day!

Lunch for today includes: Cheese or Pepperoni Big Daddy’s Pizza, Chicken Tenders, Seasoned Spiral Cut Fries, Steamed Turnip Greens, Chilled Pears, Roll, and Milk.

Attention all those who purchased a 2019 yearbook last year… the books have finally arrived! Yearbook Distribution will take place TODAY in the cafeteria at 2:15. Only those who pre-ordered a yearbook will be permitted to collect their books when called down. An announcement will be made IF there are extra copies available for purchase at a later date. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Thompson.

Listen up seniors! Continue to sign up for the college visits on Naviance. On October 24th UMES will be here doing On-Site Admissions. If you have any interest in attending a Division 1 University close to home, sign up for this college visit on Naviance and hopefully get accepted On-Site! If you have any questions please stop by guidance!

Additionally, if you are interested in participating in the On-Site Admission opportunity with Salisbury University, you MUST come to the guidance office add your name to the list! Deadline to sign up will be October 25th! Again, you MUST physically come into the guidance office for this opportunity!

Decatur! Picture day is quickly approaching and will take place on Tuesday, October 15th. Order forms have been distributed, but extra forms are available in the main office. All underclassmen and faculty will have their photos taken for the yearbook, so please plan on being present, Tuesday, October 15th. Please see Mr. Thompson with any questions.

Mock Trial will have an interest meeting on Wednesday, October 16 in Mrs. Bova’s room for anyone interested. Mock Trial is a team that makes their own case for a legal case and acts it out. It is for people who are interested in the law. Important papers for tryouts will be handed out at the meeting.

Mark your calendars Decatur, the Key Club Chipotle Fundraiser will take place on October 14 from 4 until 8 pm. Come support a good cause while enjoying some delicious food!

It will be a dark and stormy night here at Decatur on October 25th. You will be sure to scream with the NEHS fundraiser, the Haunted Hallway. $5 dollars per person, enjoy a night of fright with the Goosebumps themed hallway from 5 to 9 pm right here at Decatur. Based on the series by RL Stine, jump in fear with your friends and family on October 25th.

For Sports:

Starting Monday, October 15, there will be a open gym for basketball. Open gym will run from 5:30 until 7:00pm. You must leave the school at 2:40 and return 10 minutes prior to Open Gym. Please do not stay after school for Open gym, if you are caught hanging aground, you will be asked to leave and not return. All are welcome and the fee is $2.00.

Last night the boys varsity soccer team want a thrilling game on the road at Kent Island High School 2 to 1. Kellen catrino netted both goals in the victory. Every player that was at the game played an integral part in the victory weather on or off the field. It was a complete team win last night to close out the regular-season Road games. The boys play their last two games of the season right here at Seahawk stadium. On Tuesday the team plays Washington High School and on Thursday for senior night and the biggest match of the year against James M Bennett. The varsity team right now 6 with a record of nine wins and one loss. Come out next week to cheer the boys on includes the season with an 11 win and one loss record.

Congratulations to the JV Football team for winning their 3rd game of the season with 44 to 32. The defense was led by Nick Cullen and Duncan Ely. Khi Reid had a 35 yard fumble recovery touchdown. The offense was led by Zaveion Manuel with 3 touchdowns. RJ Brittingham and Daeggan Risser has a touchdown each.
