Today Celebrates: Marooned without a Compass Day, Saxophone Day, and National Nacho Day!

Attention all NJROTC students. There will be an All Hands Meeting for both semesters TOMORROW, Thursday, November 7th at 11:45. You must notify an instructor or cadet leadership if you cannot attend.

Attention all fall sports teams– please clean out your team lockers by this Thursday, November 7 at 12:00 noon. Anything left in a team area locker-room will be taken to your coach or lost and found. Again, all team lockers cleaned out by this Thursday.

Have you made an interesting PowerPoint or Prezi, designed any brochures or pamphlets, taken any good photographs, created any computer games? If you have, enter them in Media Expo. Information on the categories is available in the Media Center.

Seniors! Today is the final day for Senior Application Week. It continues TODAY during 1st and 2nd period. Sign up on Naviance under “what’s new.” Remember to come down with your charged laptop! This is an opportunity you do not want to miss! Additionally, Widener University will be in the guidance office TODAY at 1:15 pm. Continue to check Naviance for all upcoming college visits!

Decatur Relay For Life Team, we will be meeting next Monday, November 11th in the DNN Studio. We will be brainstorming fundraising ideas for this year and applications for leadership roles will be available. Elections will take place the following Monday, November 18th. Please see Mr. Thompson with any questions.

Are you running low on school supplies? The National English Honor Society’s school supply fundraiser to be open every Wednesday. Pick up your supplies in the ticket booth before school and during lunches.

Do you enjoy writing creatively but never seem to have the time to spend writing? Are you stuck in the middle of writing the next great American Novel and need advice or suggestions? Join the Creative Writing Cafe, a relaxed space to spend time writing and working with peers. Our first meeting will take place on Thursday, November 14th in the DNN studio. The next United As One meeting will be Tuesday November 12th right after school in Ms. Patnode’s room, C129 – located down crab alley hallway. This meeting will be the first official meeting of LGBTplus school-based organization and ALL ARE WELCOME!

Good morning SDHS heroes!! The Fall Blood Drive is right around the corner, on Tuesday, November 19th. The Blood Bank is frantic for donations right now. Reservations are due this week to secure a favored time for donating; we need 40 more sign ups by the end of this week. Please sign up today. Open appointments are from 9:15 to 12:30. Basic requirements are 17 years old, 110 pounds, healthy, and no piercings or tattoos in last 6 months. See any Key Club member, Ms. Malone or Ms. McIntosh for a form. Thank you.

Decatur is proudly participating in the Crayola ColorCycle recycling program. Bring in any old markers of any brand, highlighters, dry erase markers and more, then drop them in the recycle bin in the main office. Program runs until December 18. Again, recycle all plastic markers in the main office until December 18.

For Sports:

Attention girls planning on trying out for girls basketball. There will be open gym on Thursday from 5:45 until 7:45.

Those interested in trying out for the Boys Basketball team, you must pick up your packet from Coach Johnson in room A-165, complete and return all paper work by November 12th, and attend tryouts on November 15th.
