Today Celebrates: School Librarian Day, Tell a Lie Day, and Hug a Newsman Day!

SENIORS! The deadline to order your cap and gown has passed! If you have not ordered your cap and gown, you MUST see Mrs. Garton IMMEDIATELY!

Decatur Nation! April is Poetry Month and the National English Honor Society has a challenge for you! Share you poetry with us by dropping a poem, or two, or five, into the Poetry Bucket in the media center. Poems will be randomly drawn from the bin and read on the morning announcements. If your poem is chosen, you will win a gift certificate to a local business! The top gift card is valued at fifty dollars, so get writing, write now!

Class of 2023! The Seahawk yearbook will collect senior quotes beginning on Wednesday, April 12th until Friday, April 21st. NO quotes will be accepted before the 12th OR after the 21st. ALL quotes must be submitted through the Microsoft form that will be posted on the DNN Senior News course on Schoology.

The Seahawk yearbook wants to hear from you! Take a moment to answer two survey questions by scanning the QR codes posted in the halls, asking about being a surfer or biker and the top five things you bring to the beach. The information will be compiled and featured in the yearbook. Submit your answer by April 14th!

Decatur offers a wide variety of clubs and organizations for students, and that list continues to grow. DNN’s Chris Munn and Nic Hitchens took a deeper look at Decatur’s newest honor society. (Roll NAHS News Package 2:50)

Spinebreakers! Our next gathering will take place on Monday, April 17th, which means we have two full weeks before me meet again. Due to this, we will be reading to chapter 34 of Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.
