Lunch for today includes: Mini Cheese Calzones with Marinara Sauce, Popcorn Chicken with Roll, Steamed Carrots, Green Peas, Fresh Fruit, and milk.

PBIS wants to recognize Wilian Castillo Martinez as our student of the month! Wilian received multiple positive referrals for his positive attitude, hard work, and willingness to help others. Thank you, Wilian!

PBIS also recognizes Ms. Wendy Shirk as our Staff Member of the Month. Ms. Shirk is an invaluable asset to our SDHS community!

Attention Juniors and Seniors:Prom Tickets are going on sale tomorrow and Friday morning from 7:30 until 8 and again in the afternoon from 2:40 until 3:15. Next week tickets will be on sale Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the same morning and afternoon times. All tickets sales are cash only and will be sold in front of the indoor concession stand. To purchase tickets, remember only Juniors and Seniors can purchase prom tickets, you must be clear of all school and media center debts prior to purchasing your ticket or tickets. Debt Clearance forms can be found in the main office and the media center.

All SDHS prom guests, regardless of grade, must have a form completed by the media center staff and the front office secretaries, again prior to ticket purchase. All NON SDHS prom guests must have a guest form completed and submitted to their grade level administrator prior to ticket purchase. All the details will be in your Schoology inbox later this morning. See Mr. Greenwood or Ms. Gallelo.

April is Poetry Month and the National English Honor Society has a challenge for you! Share your poetry with us by dropping a poem into the Poetry Bucket in the media center. Poems will be randomly drawn from the bin and read on the morning announcements. If your poem is chosen, you will win a gift certificate to a local business! The top gift card is valued at fifty dollars, so get writing, write now!

SENIORS! The Seahawk yearbook is NOW collecting senior quotes until Friday, April 21st. NO quotes will be accepted after the 21st. ALL quotes must be submitted through the Microsoft form that is posted on the DNN Senior News course on Schoology.

Additionally seniors, DNN is collecting baby photos for the graduation video. Submit ONE baby photo to [email protected] between now and May 19th. Make sure you include your first AND last name in the subject line. You will receive a reply email confirming your submission. If you have a hard copy of a photo, you can bring it in to Mr. Thompson to be scanned and returned, just make sure your full name is written on the back of the photo.

Need some extra support before AP exams? Come join the Math Club as we study for the AP Calculus AB/BC and AP Statistics Exam! Practice resources will be provided, but feel free to bring your own study resources or homework. After school transportation and free snacks will be provided. Meetings take place after school in A-121, Mrs. Fenzel – Mergott’s room. If interested, please sign up using the Spring After School Academy QR code.

Decatur Nation! The Seahawk yearbook wants to hear from you! Take a moment to answer three surveys by scanning the QR codes posted in the halls. Surveys ask about being a surfer or biker, the top five things you bring to the beach, and your top five songs for the beach. The information will be compiled and featured in the yearbook. Submit your answer by April 14th!

Spinebreakers! Our next gathering will take place on Monday, April 17th, which means we have two full weeks before me meet again. Due to this, we will be reading to chapter 34 of The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.

For Sports:

There will be an open gym for basketball, today, April 12th. The open gym will start at 5:30 and will run until 7:00 pm. You must leave the school at 2:40 and return 10 minutes before Open Gym. All are welcome and the fee is $2.00.
