Thank you to all those who have dropped a poem into the Poetry Month bucket in the media center. Remember, if you poem is chosen, it will be read on the morning announcements and the author will receive a gift card to a local business. You have one more chance to win, so get your poem into the bin by the end of TODAY! Our fourth winner this month is Katelynn King, with her poem “Redheads”.

“Redheads – Oh, so you dye your hair – No, this is my natural color – Yes, it runs in my family – No, I’m not easily tempered or violent – No, you can’t connect the dots on my skin – Yes, I need to reapply sunscreen every 30 minutes – Yes, I get tan – No, I can’t tell you where the gold is – No, I don’t have green eyes – No, I’m not impulsive – Yes, I get sunburn easily – I have no idea if I’m Irish – That’s not why I celebrate St. Patrick’s Day – I have no idea what Erin Go Bragh means – Luck of the Irish? What luck? – No, I don’t love potatoes – No, corned beef and hash is not my favorite – Nor Shepards Pie – Are your wool sweaters itchy? – How the heck would I know?!”

Congratulations again Katelynn, please see Mr. Thompson after the announcements to collect your gift card prize.
