Today Celebrates: National Blonde Brownie Day!

Lunch for today includes: Beef Soft Taco, Chicken Patty Sandwich, Tater Tots, Steamed Mixed Vegetables, Mandarin Oranges, Fresh Fruit, and Milk.

Welcome to the last full week of fall semester! Remember to complete all your assignments and speak with your teacher as the semester comes to an end. Next Monday and Tuesday are scheduled half days for final exams with the spring semester beginning on Thursday, February 1st. As a friendly reminder, this week will be the last week of announcements until the new DNN crew is trained on the equipment and ready to go live! Let’s make this week a good week Decatur.

A representative from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) will visit at 9:00 am on Friday, February 2 in the Guidance Office Conference Room. Anyone interested in learning more about the programs offered should attend.

The Spinebreaker’s Book Club will be meeting TODAY, the 22nd, after school in the library. We will be discussing “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”. If you have any questions see Mr. vonRigler, and remember to bring your own copy of the book.

The Decatur Film Society will meet next Tuesday in the DNN Studio. Part of the After School Academy, Film Society meets to view and discuss various feature films, shorts, and documentaries. On Tuesday, we will focus on a number of short films with discussion taking place the week after. Want to know more? The Intro to Theatre class would like to invite you to a series of staged readings. This year’s production, Bending The Truth, is a student devised show written and performed by the Intro to Theatre class, with pieces directed by senior Abbi Weeks. The production goes up this Thursday, January 25th at 6:30 pm in the Black Box Theatre. Tickets are $5 for adults, and $3 for students. Calling all Writers! The Optimist Essay Writing Contest has been extended until Friday, February 2nd! Write an essay, 700 to 800 words, telling how optimism connects us, and you could win a monetary award! See any English teacher for an application and more information.

Dungeons and Dragons has started up again and meets each Thursday in the library! If you are new to the game and have any questions stop by the library and speak with Mr. vonRigler. Sign-ups are located around the school.
