Decatur Nation! Homecoming 2024 is NEXT WEEK! That’s right, the week of school spirit, class pride, and crazy fun begins next Monday, October 7th! Will the seniors win the week? Could the freshmen surprise us all and dominate, or perhaps the juniors will sneak ahead and still the show; but let’s not forget about the sophomores now that they have one homecoming year behind them!
Remember, every dress day and night event earns your class points and the class with the total number of points wins the entire week, so make sure you dress up and show up to either participate or cheer from the stands! Ready for the run down? Monday, dress for your favorite holiday and then get ready for a Smish Smosh Rave in the auditorium that evening!
Tuesday is all about the Hall of Fame which includes sports, music, the arts, even fictional characters can find their place in the Hall of Fame. Get creative and have fun! That evening, come out to the stadium for the annual Powder Puff as the girls take the field and the boys cheer them on!
Wednesday is all about the magic, that Disney magic! Dress in your favorite Disney attire! It will be great to see the halls full of Mickey and Minnie, Princes and Princesses, and don’t forget those Disney Villains out there! Take that night to rest up as the week is only half way done!
Thursday is all about the Outer Banks as we get ready for the new season to drop! Haven’t seen the show? No worries! Beach it up like in Ocean City. That night, the gymnasium comes alive with the annual Volleyball competition! On Friday, shine bright by wearing that neon! Freshman highlight with yellow! Sophomores shine in pink while Juniors sport the orange! Seniors, it’s your last day of Homecoming, so sport the Decatur apparel and that Decatur blue!
Friday is packed full of fun, and you don’t want to miss the Lakelyn Legacy Color Run before the game that night! As you rest from the week and get ready for the dance, make sure you check out Playa Bowls to support Mu Alpha Theta, and of course, ending the week like the olympic games, come out Saturday night for a Golden Hour in Paris, the annual homecoming dance!
DNN invites you all to the 2024 Homecoming Dance, A Golden Hour in Paris, taking place on Saturday, October 12th from 6:30 until 10:00 p.m. in the gym. This year, tickets can be purchased in advance and will be on sale Monday through Thursday of next week in the media center during 1st, 2nd, and 5th periods, as well as down at the cafeteria during lunches and at the end of the day by the main office.
