Seniors! If you missed senior portraits this summer, Lifetouch will be back in school on November 4th and 14th for make-up sessions. Seniors who missed can now schedule an appointment time for the 4th, and we need to fill this date up before we can schedule for the 14th. You can schedule via the Prestige Portraits website, or call the Customer Service appointment line at 1-855-918-2930. Remember, all yearbook photos must be taken through Prestige Portraits. Remember, every dress day and night event earns your class points and the class with the most points wins the entire week, so make sure you dress up and show up to either participate or cheer from the stands! Tomorrow, it’s all about that legendary hall of fame! Celebrating members of the numerous sports hall of fames, to legendary musical artists in the country music hall of fame and even the rock and roll hall of fame! The possibilities are endless! Tomorrow night, the legends take the field during the annual Powder Puff game beginning at 6:30! Seniors… it’s quite disappointing that no males have stepped up for the Powder Puff cheer competition, what a legendary let down!
Wednesday is a day to find magic, that Disney magic of course! Dress in your best Disney attire as Decatur’s hallways fill with legendary characters from your favorite animated and live action series. Don’t forget, Disney isn’t just Mickey and Minnie these days, there may be an epic battle between Marvel and Star Wars! Light sabres at the ready!

That evening, get ready to spike the competition during the annual volleyball tournament taking place at 6:00 in the gymnasium!
Shine bright on Friday by wearing that neon! Freshmen will highlight the halls in yellow, sophomores will paint the town pink, juniors light up in orange, and seniors sport that Decatur blue! Don’t go anywhere after school dismisses, as the Lakelyn Legacy Color Run pops off at 4:00 at the SDMS bus loop! Register early for pre-race color packs and sunglasses! Cost is $10, and the memories are priceless!
Keep the neon and color run colors going and join the Varsity Football team under the Friday night lights as they take on Kent Island during the annual Homecoming Football Game! Game starts at 6:00 p.m. with the crowning of the Queen commencing during half-time!
Homecoming week continues on Saturday with the Mu Alpha Theta Playa Bowls fundraiser! Perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, dine all day at Playa Bowls and 10 percent of proceeds benefits the Math Honor Society! That night, DNN invites you to come out for the dance as the school transforms into a Golden Hour in Paris from 6:30 until 10:00!
This year, Homecoming Dance tickets can be purchased in advance and will be on sale Monday through Thursday of next week in the media center during 1st, 2nd, and 5th periods, as well as down at the cafeteria during lunches and at the end of the day by the main office. Tickets are 15 dollars in advance, OR 20 dollars at the door. So save five dollars and buy early! Remember, you must be debt free to purchase tickets and attend, debt free forms will be available in the main office and media center later today. If you plan on bringing an out of school guest, you must pick up and complete a guest form by Wednesday, October 9th, they are available NOW in the main office!
Are you interested in earning service hours during the Homecoming Dance? We need volunteers to pour drinks in the concession stand. Give one hour of your time and you will earn service hours AND will get into the dance for FREE! See Mr. Thompson in the DNN studio to sign up for a shift!

Attention all students interested in playing girls lacrosse in the spring, we will have a brief interest meeting TOMORROW at 2:00 pm in the cafeteria. We will go over upcoming events and opportunities so please be sure to attend. See Coach Owens or Coach Bone if you have any questions.
There will be an open gym for basketball today from 5:3 until 7:00 pm. You must leave the school and return 10 minutes before Open Gym. All are welcome and the fee is $2.00.
