Decatur Nation! The After School Academy has returned but there are some changes this year so listen up. After School Academy will ONLY take place on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s with a limited number of programs being offered due to budget cuts. Check the list of offered programs on the school’s website. Students interested in participating MUST sign up through the school website. See Mrs. Berquist with any questions.
This is just a friendly reminder that there is no After School Academy service learning this week. Again, there will be NO service learning after school this week. It will resume next week.
Students interested in joining Newspaper as part of the After School Academy, please note that we will begin meeting tomorrow in the DNN studio and will meet every Tuesday and Thursday beginning next week. Seniors! Time is running out to schedule a senior portrait session with Prestige Portraits for this Thursday the 14th. You can schedule via the Customer Service appointment line at 1-855-918-2930. After the 14th, seniors will need to schedule an appointment time at the Lifetouch Studio in Salisbury by February 1st to be included in the yearbook. Remember, all yearbook photos must be taken through Prestige Portraits, and seniors without a portrait do not get a senior quote. See Mr. Thompson with any questions.

All students trying out for boys’ and girls’ wrestling must complete their family ID and have an updated sports physical by November 14th to participate. Information packets are available outside Coach August’s room, B1072A.
Friday, November 15th is the start of winter sports. If you are interested in trying out for Boys’ or Girls’ Basketball, please see Coach BJ Johnson in Room C164 to pick up important information regarding tryouts. You must sign up on Family ID and have an updated physical before you can try out. Please see coach Johnson to get a calendar for tryouts times for Varsity and Junior Varsity.
Winter cheer season is approaching! If you are interested in joining the Winter Cheer team. Please come to Coach Johnson’s room to collect the packet. You MUST have an updated physical and make sure you sign up on Family ID in order to tryout. There is a QR code located outside Coach Johnson’s classroom C129 for you to sign up. Tryouts starts on November 15th at 3:00 pm. We are excited for another great season! See you on Friday!
