It has been a big year for the Decatur Choir Program! Adelaide Dawkins was selected for the highly competitive Maryland All State Chorus and the All-Shore Chorus. Adelaide performed with the All-State Chorus earlier this month and is looking forward to performing with All Shore Chorus next month. Adelaide’s hard work, positive attitude, and fierce competitiveness have set the bar very high for our choir program.
Additionally, Alex Pouchan was selected for the All-Shore Chorus and is looking forward to performing together with Adelaide next month. Alex has worked hard this year as he continues his streak of making All Shore Chorus since middle school. He has his eyes on All State Chorus next year and we’re sure he’ll make it.
The SDHS Choir also competed with 13 other area choirs on the Eastern Shore earlier this month and scored an overall excellent rating with a noticeable improvement in sight reading. Mr. Gross is proud of all the hard work each student has put in this year to drive our music department forward. If you are interested in building our music program into a force to be reckoned with, please see Mr. Gross or Mr. McKenzie as they are always looking for talented, driven people who want to win.
