Congratulations to all those FFA students who competed in these state level Career Development Events competitions. For the individual results, congrats to Jack Phillips who earned 2nd place in Food Science, JaNiya Carelock who earned 8th place in Food Science, Lanandon Makinen who earned 11th place in Agronomy, Hailey Renshaw who earned 12th place in Vet Science, and Marian Adkins who earned 16th in Vet Science. Team Highlights include Agronomy who earned 4th place overall and Vet Science who earned 7th place overall.
Seniors! You have until Friday to cast your vote on senior superlatives and to submit your senior quote for the yearbook! Quote submission and voting for superlatives will remain open until Friday, May 2nd, after that time no additional quotes or votes will be accepted. Vote using the QR code OR URL posted on the flyers.
Baby photos for the graduation ceremony are also being accepted at this time! Each graduating senior is permitted ONE baby photo and photos must be emailed to [email protected]. Please include the student’s first and last name in the subject line. You have until Friday, May 23rd to email in a photo. If you have any questions about quotes, superlatives, or baby photos, please see Mr. Thompson.
The National English Honor Society is holding our Membership Drive these next two weeks, with applications being accepted until Friday, May 9th! Check with any English Teacher, the media center, and the main office for an application to apply for NEHS. All applications are due to Mr. Thompson by 3:00 pm the 9th. Have specific questions, see Mr. Thompson or Mrs. Terlizzi.
Attention All prom go-ers: Prom ticket sales will continue every day this week and Monday through Thursday next week. Tickets are $50 each and include a dessert buffet. Tickets can be purchased with cash or check only. Debt sign off sheets are available in the main office along with out of school guest forms. A debt sign off, for all Decatur students attending, regardless of grade, and an out of school guest form, for those that do not attend Decatur, must be completed for all guests before tickets will be sold. More information will follow, through a Schoology message, to all juniors and seniors. See Mr. Greenwood in C-174 with questions.
Attention Spanish Honor Society Members: We will have a meeting at 7:30 am TOMORROW, April 30th to discuss our upcoming field trip to Washington DC and to finalize plans for a Cinco de Mayo celebration. See you Wednesday morning in Señora Sawyer’s room!

The Leo Club is excited to announce that on May 2nd, at 5:30 pm during the girls’ lacrosse senior night near the concession stand, we will be hosting a lemonade stand to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in the fight against childhood cancer. By funding innovative research and supporting families, we can impact their lives! Come out to enjoy some refreshments and tasty snacks! Your donations and support would really make a difference!
