Decatur Nation! This week is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week! Everyone has times when they struggle with their mental health. It is normal to have times when you might feel sad, nervous, worried, or when you might have a hard time managing your emotions and stress. If you are having a hard time, you are not alone! In fact, one in five people experience a mental health problem before the age of 18. Remember that there are people you can talk to here at school if you are having a difficult time like your school counselor, school social worker, or a trusted teacher or coach. Tomorrow, Wednesday May 7th we encourage all students and staff to wear GREEN to help end the stigma of mental health.
Attention students planning to participate in the field trip to the Museum of the American Latino on Wednesday, May 14th: permission slips are due on Wednesday, May 7th. Please turn them in to Señora Sawyer ASAP.
