Attention All Students: It’s Election Season and Stephen Decatur High School is looking for a few good leaders! If you are interested in running for either a Class Office or a position in the Student Government Association, please be sure to pick up your application outside the main office or use the designated QR code to apply. All applications are due by 3:00 pm on Tuesday, September 9th. Elections will be held in Homeroom on the morning of Friday, September 12. Best of luck to all candidates!
National English Honor Society Members! We will hold our first meeting of the year after school from 2:50 until 3:50 next Monday, September 8th in Mr. Thompson’s room, F1. We will be discussing our upcoming Induction Ceremony as well as our annual Trunk or Treat event. Please notify your coaches that you will be late to practice due to our meeting. If you cannot make the meeting, fill out the book in Mr. Thompson’s room.
Calling all journalists, photographers, designers, and anyone else who wants to get involved this year! The Hawk Newspaper is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team! We will be meeting every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:45 until 4:00, beginning next week, in Mr. Thompson’s room, F1, the DNN studio. Please see Mr. Thompson for more information.
Decatur Nation! The Homecoming Dance Committee is looking for students who are interested in helping with dance set-up and decorating. We will be meeting next Wednesday, September 10th in Mr. Thompson’s room, F1, the DNN studio. The meeting will last about a half hour and we will be discussing theme options which seniors will vote for. Seniors, if you want a say in the dance theme this year, make sure you show up to this meeting! Not only can you earn service hours for this, you will also be able to get into the dance for free! The Decatur Relay For Life Team is back this year! What is Relay For Life? We are a group of individuals who are ready to fight back against cancer through service and fundraising efforts that benefit the American Cancer Society. If you’re interested in living in a world without cancer, then consider joining our team! We will hold our first meeting on Monday, September 15th after school in Mr. Thompson’s room, F1, and will begin planning our upcoming Teen’s Only Pool Party in January. We hope to see you there!

Attention students! This year KAAAT (Kids Against Animal Abuse and Testing) will be having its first meeting on Wednesday, September 17th after school from 2:45 until 3:30. It will take place in Mr. Thompsons room F1, the DNN studio. All freshman are welcome to join and build their resume by helping our community.
