Seniors! Appointment slots for Senior Portrait Retakes are NOW OPEN! Prestige Portraits will be at school on November 12th and 13th to capture senior portraits for yearbook and cap and gown photos as well. All yearbook portraits MUST be taken through Lifetouch for the yearbook, and you only have two days of retakes. Registration for the After School Academy fall session is now open. Fall ASA begins next Tuesday, September 23rd, but students can and should register NOW using the QR code posted on the “What’s Up Decatur?” bulletin boards or by using the link found on Schoology or on the school website. Transportation will not be available for students who are not registered. So, be sure to check out all of the programs offered!
Calling all artists and creatives! The first Art Club meeting, part of the After School Academy, will take place on Tuesday, September 23rd in Mrs. Gonzo’s room, G6 beginning at 2:45. Come check it out and get creative!
Decatur! The 2026 Seahawk yearbook is NOW on sale! Order before October 1st to secure the lowest price for a copy of your memories! Copies are currently 75 dollars, but that increases to 95 dollars on October 1st. Order online at yearbookforever.com.
Speaking of yearbook, the 2025 Seahawk yearbooks have arrived! Distribution of the 2025 yearbooks, for those who pre-ordered their copies, will take place on Wednesday, September 24th during all lunch shifts. If you did not pre-order a copy last year but are interested in purchasing one of our over-runs, please send Mr. Thompson a message or email. Overruns will be sold after distribution day. Please note, we will also be distributing School ID cards to current seniors.

Decatur Nation! There’s a NEW Event for Homecoming Week Festivities! Be one of the competitors in the first Homecoming Spikeball tournament to support the Decatur Morgan’s Message Chapter! Register to play during lunch shifts on Tuesday the 23rd through Thursday the 25th or scan the QR code on the poster located on the What’s Up Decatur Bulletin Boards around the school. ATTENTION ALL SENIORS: If you are interested in the law, government, politics, or if you are passionate about an issue and how it impacts our society, then the Maryland Page Program might be for you! The Maryland Page Program gives seniors the opportunity to participate in the Maryland General Assembly for two non-consecutive weeks from January to April. Additionally, Pages receive a small stipend. Applications are available outside of the CRT Office. Applications are due by 3:00 pm on September 30th. For Sports:
Both JV and Varsity Volleyball won their games against WiHi. Chloe Jones had 7 aces and Hayden Esworthy had 5 aces. Lila Gunther had 3 kills and 2 blocks. Way to go teams!
Big congrats to our Varsity Girls’ Soccer team on their 3 to 0 win against Mardela! Maddie Tapley was on fire with 2 goals and an assist, Luca Russo added a goal, and Lamis Omar had an assist. Shoutout to our dominant defense for the shutout!
A big congratulations goes out to the girls and boys cross country teams who competed on Thursday at the Rumble in the Jungle in Cambridge against 25 teams. The girls took home the trophy for 1st place with Lily Norman winning the 5K race in a time of 20:35. Other medal winners for the girls were Jess Hernaez in 15th place, Brooke Loring in 17th place, and Avery Weber in 22nd place. Great job ladies!!
The boys team placed 4th as a team with medal winners Carter Steffy in 14th, followed closely by Ethan Rhode in 15th, and Alex Pouchan in 24th. Way to go guys. Best of luck to both teams as they travel to Herford HS to compete in the Bull Run Invitational on the Maryland state championship course. Don’t let that DIP take you down!!!
