Students: Homecoming out of school guest forms and debt slips are available in the main office. All students must complete a “I’m debtless” form to purchase tickets. Tickets are $15 ahead of time or $20 at the door. Guest forms must be submitted, along with a photo ID, by October 8th for all out-of-school guests. Tickets for the homecoming dance will go on sale October 6th through the 9th. Stay tuned for more details!
Decatur Nation! There’s a NEW Event for Homecoming Week Festivities! Be one of the competitors in the first Homecoming Spikeball tournament to support the Decatur Morgan’s Message Chapter! Register to play during lunch shifts TODAY and TOMORROW or scan the QR code on the poster located on the What’s Up Decatur Bulletin Boards around the school. You can submit team payment on your lunch shift or to Mrs. Owens or Mrs. Shirk. Don’t miss out – It’s going to be a “BALL”!
Juniors and Seniors! There are three college visits today! Stevenson University will be here at 8:15, Drexel University at 9:40, and York College of Pennsylvania at 10:40. These meetings are in the Guidance Office Conference Room. Interested Juniors and Seniors can sign up in Schoolinks. See Mr. Hall if you have questions.
Attention Junior and Seniors: Please do not forget to check Schoolinks daily for the college vistation schedule. Many great colleges and universities come right here to SDHS. Sign ups are easy and on schoolinks. Must sign up Prior to morning off the visit.
Attention Seniors: Please remember that every Tuesday and Thursday, Ms. Redden and Mrs. Riley will be in the library during 4th period to assist with college applications and to help answer questions. Come during your lunch or if your teacher gives you permission. Teachers don’t worry, we can have them back within 15 minutes! Please take advantage of this carved out time, just for you seniors!
The 2025 Seahawk yearbooks have arrived! Distribution of the 2025 yearbooks, for those who pre-ordered their copies, will take place TODAY, during all lunch shifts. If you did not pre-order a copy last year but are interested in purchasing one of our over-runs, please send Mr. Thompson a message or email. Overruns will be sold after distribution day. Please note, we will also be distributing School ID cards to current seniors.
Hey Decatur – Interested in becoming a teacher? Want to join in on fun and meaningful service opportunities? Attention all Spanish students: Spanish tutoring will be offered on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Tuesdays, Senora Cassino will host Spanish help in Room D1. On Thursdays, Senora Sawyer will host Spanish help, along with Spanish Honor Society members, in Room D6. Any student seeking help should be registered with the After School Academy. Students can register using the QR code or by clicking on the link provided on the After School Academy page of our school website.
ATTENTION ALL SENIORS: If you are interested in the law, government, politics, or if you are passionate about an issue and how it impacts our society, then the Maryland Page Program might be for you! The Maryland Page Program gives seniors the opportunity to participate in the Maryland General Assembly for two non-consecutive weeks from January to April. Additionally, Pages receive a small stipend. Applications are available outside of the CRT Office. Applications are due by 3:00 pm on September 30th. See Mrs. Berquist in the CRT Office if you have further questions.
For Sports:
Attention all girl’s lacrosse players who are NOT playing a fall sport and are interested in earning service-learning hours. We will begin our annual Middle School Lacrosse Academy this Tuesday, September 23rd from 3:00 until 4:00 pm. If you are interested in volunteering, please see Coach Owens or Coach Bone.
There will be an open gym for all that are interested in basketball TOMORROW September 25th. The open gym will run from 5:30 until 7:00 pm. You must leave the school and return 10 minutes before Open Gym. All are welcome, and the fee is $2.00. If you have any questions, see coach Johnson in room B9.
Congratulations to the Varsity Golf team on their 4th win of the season at a very difficult golf course! We were led by medalist Brody Kendall’s 38, with Lucas Kohut and Gavin Lewis’ 41 and Lewis Takacs’ 45.
