If you plan on bringing a non-SDHS student to the Homecoming Dance, you MUST complete an Out of School Guest form and turn it into the front office, with a photo ID of the guest, by 3:00 pm Wednesday, October 8th. Out of School Guest Forms AND Debt Slips are available in the main office.
All SDHS students must complete an “I’m debtless” form to purchase tickets. Tickets for the dance will be on sale during 2nd and 5th periods in the media center, and down by the cafeteria during 4th period from Monday, October 6th until Thursday, October 9th. Tickets are 15 dollars in advanced, or 20 dollars at the door. If you pre-purchase your ticket, not only will you get a 5 dollar discount, you will also enter through the main doors, bypassing the major line. Attention Students who are attending the UMES College Fair Field Trip today. Please report to the front of the school at 10:00 am. The bus will depart at 10:15 am. You are only permitted to go if you turned in your permission slip before today! We will return around 1:45 pm. You are responsible for all missed work.

Seniors! Appointment slots for Senior Portrait Retakes are OPEN! Prestige Portraits will be at school on November 12th and 13th to capture senior portraits for yearbook and cap and gown photos as well. All yearbook portraits MUST be taken through Lifetouch for the yearbook, and you only have two days of retakes. If you miss these days, you will have to report to the Lifetouch Studio in Hanover, Maryland, so do not delay, schedule today through schedule.prestigeportraits.com. See Mr. Thompson with questions.
Attention all Spanish students: Spanish tutoring will be offered on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Tuesdays, Senora Cassino will host Spanish help in Room D1. On Thursdays, Senora Sawyer will host Spanish help, along with Spanish Honor Society members, in Room D6. Any student seeking help should be registered with the After School Academy. Students can register using the QR code or by clicking on the link provided on the After School Academy page of our school website.
Are you interested in being a defense attorney, a prosecuting attorney, or a witness in a civil case, in a real courtroom, with real attorneys? The Mock Trial Team is holding an interest meeting on October 6th from 2:45 until 3:15 after school. First-round tryouts will held be on Monday, October 13th. Callbacks will be on Monday, October 20th. Both tryout meetings will be held from 2:45 until 3:15 in Ms. Malone’s room, G5. All who are interested must attend both sessions. Please ensure that you have transportation and we hope to see you there!
Attention Seniors: Please remember that every Tuesday and Thursday, Ms. Redden and Mrs. Riley will be in the library during 4th period to assist with college applications and to help answer questions. Come during your lunch or if your teacher gives you permission. Teachers don’t worry, we can have them back within 15 minutes! Please take advantage of this carved out time, just for you seniors!

Congratulations to the Varsity Golf Team on their win at Great Hope Golf Course on Tuesday with a team score of 159. We were led by medalist Lucas Kohut 1 under par 36, with Brody Kendall 40, and Lewis Takacs and Gavin Lewis 41. This win secured the Bayside South for the 8th year in a row!
Congratulations to the Varsity Golf team on another impressive win at Green Hill! the team was led by Co-Medalists Brody Kendall and Lucas Kohut with Gavin Lewis and Calen Shockley rounding out the top scores.
On Tuesday night, both JV and Varsity Volleyball won their games against Bennett. For JV, Ella Kavanagh had 6 aces. For varsity, Amari Purnell had 11 digs, Kirby Bounds had 7 assists, Alice Bickel had 4 kills and Zoe Hinkle had 3 kills. Great job girls!
