Decatur Nation! Homecoming 2025 is here! Remember, this week is a friendly class competition and you earn points for dressing, participating, and showcasing your Decatur Pride! Today is Twin Day! Make sure you check in with the cheerleaders down by the cafeteria during all lunch shifts to get credit for your grade level!
The Homecoming Dance is this Saturday! The dance will take place in the gym from 6:30 until 10:00 pm. If you plan on bringing a non-SDHS student to the Homecoming Dance, you MUST complete an Out of School Guest form and turn it into the front office, with a photo ID of the guest, by 3:00 pm TOMORROW! Out of School Guest Forms AND Debt Slips are available in the main office.
All SDHS students must complete an “I’m debtless” form to purchase tickets. Tickets for the dance will be on sale during 2nd and 5th periods in the media center, and down by the cafeteria during 4th period TODAY, TOMORROW, AND THURSDAY. Tickets are 15 dollars in advance, or 20 dollars at the door. If you pre-purchase your ticket, not only will you get a 5 dollar discount, you will also enter through the main doors, bypassing the major line. If you have questions about the dance, see Mr. Thompson in F-1.
Speaking of the dance… we want to make the homecoming dance better than ever! It’s “Request Week” all this week! Scan the QR code posted on the “What’s Up Decatur” bulletin boards to submit your special music requests instantly!
DNN needs your help! We are looking for volunteers to pour drinks during the Homecoming Dance. Not only will you earn service hours for the time spent helping, you will also get into the dance for free! See Mr. Thompson in F1 or at the cafeteria during lunch to sign up!

Attention 2024-2025 Presidential Service Award recipients: There will be a brief meeting in the auditorium TOMORROW at 1:15 pm to discuss logistics for the awards ceremony on Thursday. Please make every effort to attend. If you cannot attend the meeting, please see Mrs. Thompson in Room C-6 ASAP for some important information.
Seniors please remember that Ms. Redden and Mrs. Riley will be in the library classroom during 4th period to help with college applications and or career aspirations. BUT… the Seniors made a huge comeback last night at the First Annual Morgan’s Message Spike Ball Tournament! They took 1st place in attendance and won the tournament—led by the unstoppable Minecraft Miners!
