Decatur Nation! It’s time to Light the Night with the Wicomico and Worcester County Health Departments! This Saturday, October 18th, head out to Winterplace Park in Salisbury to participate in the Light the Night Suicide Prevention and Memorial Event from 5:30 until 7:30 pm. This is a family friendly event with speakers, a glow walk, candle vigil and more. Glow Sticks will be provided as we “Light the way for a better tomorrow.”
Are you looking for service hours either for your government class or for the Presidential Service awards? If yes, then come down to Mr. Thompson’s room, F-1, to sign-up to help NEHS prepare for the 4th Annual Indoor Trunk or Treat Event. Members will be staying after school next Monday through Thursday, and the 27th and 28th to work on decorations and we could use your help! The SDHS Key Club will be hosting our first Blood Drive of the year on Friday, October 24. Please see Mrs. Saullo or Ms. Kalchthaler to sign up to donate blood. You are able to donate blood at 16 with a signed parent permission slip.
For Sports:
The Maryland High School Rodeo team competed the Riverfront Round Up in New Jersey last weekend. Junior Angelle Ayres had a fast time of 17.94 seconds for barrels putting her in 8th place. Freshmen Hannah Renshaw had a fast time of 17.65 seconds for barrels putting her in 7th place. Junior Brooke Warren placed 6th with a fast time of 10.97 seconds in goat tying and a 14.44 giving her a 7th place finish. Hannah Renshaw also took 8th place for pole bending with a time of 26.56 and 9th place finish for goat tying. Also competing, junior Jayden Garton placed first in a 3D side pot for barrels. The girls competed with 44 girls in total. Way to go Decatur girls!
