Attention all After School Academy participants: The After School Academy has been extended to include this week, due to missed days during the recent storm. The winter session will now end this Thursday, March 5th.
The National English Honor Society is holding our annual Membership Drive until Wednesday, April 1st. Students must have maintained a 3.5 GPA in all English courses and a 3.0 for all other high school classes. Applicants must have also taken at least two English electives, which includes a variety of courses and after school programs. If interested in applying for the English Honor Society, see any English teacher, the Media Center, or Mr. Thompson for an application.
Seniors! Save the date! Lifetouch will be at Decatur on Friday, March 13th to capture the 2026 Senior Panoramic at 8:00 in the gymnasium. One tech bus will be held for seniors for the photo. This will be one of the last times the entire senior class will be together, so don’t miss it! Order forms for the group photo can be found in the main office or through Mr. Thompson.
Interested in Color Guard? The Stephen Decatur High School Color Guard Auditions for next school year will be held March 9th to 13th from 3:00 till 4:30 pm in the Band Room, A-2. Attendance is required for anyone wanting to participate in guard next year. No experience necessary; we will teach you everything you need to know! Club America will host a meeting today, Tuesday, March 3rd, after school in Mr. Hinkle’s classroom.
There is still time to sign up for the 2nd Annual Pickleball Tournament that will benefit our school’s Morgan’s Message chapter. The event is on March 18th from 6:00 until 9:00 pm in the gymnasium. Registration fee to compete is $10 per player. See a Morgan’s Message member, Mrs. Owens in A8 or Mrs. Shirk in guidance to register and pay. You can also scan the QR code on the event flyer located on the What’s Up Decatur bulletin boards around the school.
This is just a friendly reminder that tomorrow is a scheduled half-day with period 4 and 5 being observed. Due to this scheduled day, there will NOT be announcements tomorrow… we will return Thursday morning.
