Seniors! You have 5 Day to submit your senior quote for the yearbook and baby/toddler photo for the graduation pre-show video. Quotes MUST be submitted using the QR code or url link on the flyers. NO quotes will be accepted via schoology or email. We need at least 228 seniors to submit a quote for us to publish quotes The form will close on Friday, May 15th at 3:00 pm, so don’t miss the submission window!
Each student is permitted to submit ONE baby/Toddler photo for the video. Photos should be emailed to [email protected] and please make sure you include the students’ first AND last name in the subject line. You will receive an email reply confirming that your photo has been received, so if you send in a photo, look for the reply… if you do not receive a reply, then we did not receive a photo. Hard copies of photos can be brought to the DNN Studio, room F-1 to be scanned and returned. All photos MUST be emailed or handed in by 3:00 pm on Friday, May 15th. If you have any questions before May 15th, please see Mr. Thompson.
Seniors- please remember to complete your senior survey on PowerSchool and pay your class dues before the meeting on May 15.
Prom is THIS Saturday, May 16th from 6:00 till 10:30 pm at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City! Tickets are $50 each, cash or check. Before you can buy a prom ticket, you’ll need to complete a Debt Sign Off Form, which are located in the Media Center and the Main Office. You must be debt free from the Main Office, Media Center, and the I.T. Department. All students must bring their SDHS labeled charger AND crayon to the Tech office when getting signed off for I.T. debt.
After you get the Sign Off Form completed DON’T lose it before you go to purchase your ticket. No form. No ticket sale. No exception. There is a mandatory information gathering survey accessed through a QR code in the Debt Sign Off, that must be completed PRIOR to ticket sale. All students that attend SDHS MUST have a Debt Sign Off regardless of grade. If your date is not an SDHS student, they must have an Out of School guest form APPROVED prior to ticket sale. These forms can be found in the Main Office. The turnaround time for approval is typically 2 to 3 school days, so plan accordingly.
All ticket sales will take place in the Square and tickets will be on sale TOMORROW through Thursday, at 7:30 till 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 till 3:00 p.m. Please note: There will be NO ticket sales this afternoon! Attention Seniors: Interested in becoming a teacher? Worcester County Public Schools is offering an apprenticeship program that includes full-time employment as an educational assistant and full online college tuition through the Notre Dame of Maryland University. See Mrs. Cosgrove for more information or attend the information session on Wednesday, May 13 in the Media Center at 8:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.
For Sports:
Congratulations to the boys and girls track and field teams who competed at the Bayside Meet against 16 other teams in Cambridge last week. The boys team came in 8th overall with podium finishers in the 800m run of Collin Pennington in 2nd and Braydon Bell in 3rd. Carter Steffy placed 3rd in the 3200m run and the boys 4x800m team of Xander Wakefield, Ethan Rhode, Braydon Bell and Collin Pennington earned the Bayside Championship title by coming in first place. Great job guys.
It was a HUGE week for the girls team as they won the Bayside Meet for the first time since 2012. Taking the podium for the girls included Amaya Johnson winning high jump, the 4x800m team of Ellie Cheynet, Jess Hernaez, Evelyn Eade, and Lilly Norman in 1st place and the 4x400m team of Lotus Wise, Jess Hernaez, Evelyn Eade, and Lilly Norman in 3rd. Lilly Norman made a huge showing also in her individual events scoring 2nd in the 800m run, the 1600m run, and the 3200m run. And Lotus Wise was the MVP of the meet taking the podium in all of her events including 3rd place in the 100m dash, 1st place in the 400m run, 1st place in long jump, and 1st place in triple jump with a new meet record of 40 feet 7 inches making her the #1 ranking triple jumper in MD. Congratulations to all the girls for this big combined effort.
Best of luck to both the girls and boys teams this week as they compete in the Maryland 3A East Regional meet at Northeast HS TODAY and Wednesday with hopes to advance to the Maryland State Championship Meet.
