Today Celebrates: National Chili Day, National Tooth Fairy Day, and Skip the Straw Day!

Lunch for today includes: Mickeys Cheese Pizza, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Baked Potato Wedge, Steamed Mixed Vegetables, Chilled Strawberry Cups, and Milk.

Last night Mock Trial won their defense case against Worcester Prep in their final meet. They would also to thank Captain and Senior Jayden Johnson for his work on the team.

Media expo entries and judging sheets may be picked up in the Media Center.

All drivers are advised that TODAY, there will be an Army National Guard BlackHawk Helo landing at the school. It will be landing in the practice football field across from the tennis courts. If you park in the lot between the tennis courts and that field this Friday, you are parking there at your own risk. When the helo lands and takes off, there is a chance of dirt, grass, and other debris being blown into that parking lot area and hitting the vehicles. For more information or questions, contact the Senior Naval Science Instructor, Lieutenant Commander Stewart.

Save the date Seniors! On Monday, March 9th, Lifetouch will be here to capture Cap and Gown Pictures. Appointment times have been mailed home, and a full list of appointments is posted outside the media center and the DNN Studio. Please see Mr. Thompson with any questions.

Do you like pizza and pie? Then come to the Pi Day celebration on March 10th starting at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria. It’s only one dollar to enter. Sign up for team and individual pie eating contests outside of room A129, Mrs. Ebelein’s room. Its $20 per team of four and $5 per individual. There will be food games, and you could be the one to pie an administrator.

Attention Singers! Worcester County Public schools is looking for talented vocalists to be featured at the Teacher of the Year Gala on March 27th! Auditions are open to any soloist or small groups less than 5. Please see a flyer outside the DNN studio to register.

Hungry for some Chipotle? Support the Decatur Relay For Life Team by eating at Chipotle in West Ocean City on Tuesday, March 3rd from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Eat some delicious food while helping the fight against cancer!

Seniors! It’s that time of year when we begin collecting baby pictures for the graduation video. DNN will begin collecting photos next week, March 2nd. Please email photos to [email protected] with your name in the subject line, or drop off hard copies to the DNN studio with your name on the back. These photos will be scanned and returned to you. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Thompson.

For Sports:

TODAY, Decatur will host the girls and boys basketball regional quarter final games. The girls game will begin at 5:30pm, the boys at 7:00pm. The cost is $6 per person and passes are NOT valid. Again, athletic and family passes are NOT valid for playoff games. All who enter must pay $6.

Anyone trying out for tennis this year must have Family ID completed by noon today and a current physical on file with trainer. Tryouts will begin on Monday at 3:00 p.m. on the tennis courts.

Attention girls softball: All registration through family I.D and physical forms must be turned in, in order to tryout. Tryouts for softball will be tomorrow in the gym from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Bring tennis shoes and a glove. See Coach Kurtz with any questions.

Baseball starts this Saturday. 9th and 10th grades from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. 11th and 12th grades from 11:00 a.m, until 12:30 p.m. Please dress warm.

Boys Lacrosse tryouts will be this Saturday, February 29th from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M. and from 1:30 to 3:30 P.M. Then again on March 2nd at 3:15 p.m. Please arrive an hour early for sign-ins and jersey handouts. Please make sure you are signed up for Family ID and also have a current physical turned in or you will be unable to tryout for the team.
