The Conjuring: Last Rites is the most recent installment to hit theaters while being the last film in the series once again Starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren. In this final chapter, the Warrens are investigating a home in Virginia while Lorraine is pregnant. After talking to and touching an object within the home, she goes into labor early, threatening the life of both unborn child and mother. After a tedious but successful birth, the Warrens move on and forget about the object that induced labor, until the object and energy attached once again starts tormenting the family.
During this time of torment, the Warrens were taking a break from investigating anything paranormal. Yet, with the return of the object, the family once again faces supernatural torment that includes the Warrens now adult child and their family. They had to work together to fight back and not lose hope.
Overall, the film is enjoyable for fans of supernatural flicks due to the films jump scares, plot, sound design, and acting from the cast. While fans of horror may find the film lacking in scares, audiences have enjoyed the final chapter, and reviews have been relatively positive despite the 59% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This movie is a good pick for whenever you need a good scare or for when you are spending time together with friends, especially during the Halloween season.
