Kelly’s Heroes tells the story of Private Kelly, an American soldier in Germany during World War II who winds up leading a group of fellow soldiers who go behind enemy lines in France to steal 14,000 bars of gold, all while avoiding the nazis.
Starring Clint Eastwood as Private Kelly, Donald Sutherland as “Oddball”, Don Rickles as Crapgame, and Telly Savalas as Big Joe. The highlights include Sutherlands performance and rendition of the song “Burning Bridges”, the comedic timing of Rickles, and a perfect cast.
Kelly’s Heroes is an overall fun escapist adventure that audiences only get with films from the 70s, 80s, and early 90s.
