Today Celebrates: Bird Day, Renewal Day, and Star Wars Day!

Lunch for today includes: Chicken Tenders with Roll, Meatball Sub, Sweet Potato Fries, Green Peas, Strawberry Cup, Fresh Fruit and Milk.

Decatur Spinebreakers! We’ve started a new book, The Silent Patient, and will be reading up to page 52 for next Monday. This will also be the last book for the school year, so if you’d like to have a quick and exciting read before summer break now is a perfect time to join! See Mrs. Terlizzi, Mr. Thompson, or Mr. vonRigler with any questions.

Class of 2023! Senior superlative voting is open for two more days only! Voting closes at 11:59 p.m. this Friday, May 5th. Votes must be submitted using the Microsoft form posted in the DNN Senior News course on Schoology. Please vote for two classmates in each category. The results will be published in the 2023 Seahawk yearbook. Vote, Vote, Vote!

Also seniors, continue sending in those baby photos for the graduation video. Submit ONE baby photo to [email protected] between now and May 19th. Make sure you include your first AND last name in the subject line. You will receive a reply email confirming your submission. If you have a hard copy of a photo, you can bring it in to Mr. Thompson to be scanned and returned, just make sure your full name is written on the back of the photo.

Attention Class of 2024 NHS Members: We will have a general meeting on Friday, May 5th after school in the auditorium. The meeting will last until approximately 3:15. Following the meeting, we will vote on officers. Please mark your calendars now for our May 5th meeting.

All underclassmen members of NEHS will meet in B1072 after school TODAY. Please be prompt. Dismissal at 3:15 if all material is covered. NEHS underclassmen meet in B1072B at 2:45.

Decatur Nation! Come out this evening for a night of music as the Decatur’s Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble take the stage beginning at 6:00 pm in the auditorium. We look forward to seeing you there!

While the end of the school year is approaching, the spirit from this year continues from the senior class to the freshmen class. DNN’s Chloe Kohut and Payton Piercey took a deeper look at the rise of school spirit seen throughout this school year. (Roll School Spirit News Package 2:27)

For Sports:

The Girls Lacrosse team defeated bayside south rivalry, Parkside last night 19 to 3. The Seahawks dominated draw controls, winning 19 out of 22. They also had 10 different players score including Audrey Mumford with 5 goals and Sadie Kauffman with 4. Goalie Addison McDaniel and the defenders anchored it down and connected with the midfielders to make it a complete team win. The girls take on Bennett today to complete their regular season.

At 4:00 PM Girls Varsity Lacrosse plays at Bennett – dismissal at 1:45
