Kaydence Burrell and Addison Perdue interviewed sophomores Mekayla Copenhaver and Giabella Abruzzo on September 22 regarding their outfits. First, we had Copenhaver tell us about where each piece of clothing she had on was from. She said that her top was from Hollister, her skirt was Cotton On, and her shoes were Converses. Then we asked her to describe her style, which she categorized as more of a “clean girl” style. Finally, when asked what or who inspires her style the most, she said that her “social media feeds” help to inspire her clothing and style choices.
Moving to Abruzzo, we asked her to give us a break down of her outfit including where each piece of clothing was from. Abruzzo said that her cardigan was from Hollister, her tank top from Aerie, her pants were H&M, and her shoes were Vans. We then asked her what she would generally categorize her style as. She told us that she considers her style “clean girl”, just like Copenhaver. Lastly, we asked what or who inspires her style which resulted in her explaining how she gets inspired by the people she is surrounded by and gets inspired by her own creativity when it comes to putting an outfit together.
People now often look to social media to find more style inspiration. This can be helpful because of the many fashion communities on social media. People can now be influenced by more individuals, and it doesn’t just have to be the people closest to them, it can be both people surrounding them and people online. Which is a new and important aspect to the fashion culture in our modern society.
